The ambient orchestrations and electronic percussion used in Aliens were kindly received in the film music community, many of the film's cues have become action flick clichĐšs. Aliens soundtrack brought James Horner his first Academy scoring nomination. The score is dominated by jarring strings and driving percussion. The Deluxe Edition, released in 2001contains 16 previously unreleased cues. But casual listeners will probably be more than satisfied with the original version.
